A leading private hospital group in Mauritius is recruiting Resident Medical Officers at junior generalist grade. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career doctors to gain broad clinical experience in a well-resourced private hospital setting in Mauritius.
Role overview
- Provide generalist medical care across inpatient and outpatient settings under consultant supervision
- Assess, investigate, and manage a broad range of medical presentations
- Participate in on-call and shift rotas as required
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to patient safety and quality improvement activities
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from an institution recognised by the Medical Council of Mauritius
- 0–3 years’ post-graduation clinical experience
- Valid Medical Council of Mauritius (MCM) registration
Salary
MUR 47,032/mo basic salary + MUR 10,000/mo travel allowance.
Package
- Free shared accommodation provided for the first 3 months; thereafter a housing allowance of MUR 6,090/month is paid if renting independently
- One meal provided per working day
- Fully company-paid medical insurance (valued at approximately MUR 3,425/month)
- Return flight home every 2 years, up to MUR 25,000
- Retention allowance of MUR 2,500–5,000 after 2 years of service
- Occupation Permit process and all associated fees fully handled by the hospital (process takes up to 90 days)
- Medical Council of Mauritius (MCM) registration supported post-permit (typically 15–30 days)
Licensing
A valid Medical Council of Mauritius (MCM) registration is required to practise. The hospital manages the full Occupation Permit application and fees; MCM registration follows once the permit is issued. Prodesse Health supports candidates throughout the process.
